Drama Club Meeting Minutes 8/26/10
August 26, 2010 3:45-4:11pm -- Drama Club Meeting
To become a Drama Club Member, one must bring $20 dues to Mrs. Tatsch and sign the clipboard. Working on a committee is required. For more information see Mrs. Tatsch or one of the officers (Meagan, Sarah, Matt, or Ashley).
Spirit Committee will meet Tue., Aug. 31, Tue., Sep. 7, & Mon., Sep. 13 @ 3:45pm in Rm. 110 to plan Homecoming Parade Float & Pep Rally skit for Sep. 10th pep rally. Homecoming Parade is Wed., Sept. 15th. A flatbed trailer is still needed for the Homecoming Parade.
Fundraising Committee will meet in Rm. 110 Sept. 7th at 3:45pm. Those interested in ushering and taking tickets at performances are asked to attend.
Memorabilia Committee meeting TBA.
Publicity Committee meeting TBA.
Seussical Auditions begin August 31st @ 5:30pm. Bring completed audition forms.
Mrs. Tatsch was asked to look into Bowling, Pool Party @ Lauren's house, or Skating for this year's Back-to-School Party. Look here and the Call Board outside Mrs. T's room for further information on the Back-to-School Party.
Texas Renaissance Festival in Plantersville, TX is Nov. 3, 2010.

Back to School
I'm excited about school starting Monday. I'm ready to see some shiny new faces. A new adventure is about to begin!
Our first drama club meeting will be Thursday, August 26th @ 3:45pm in Room 110. PLEASE NOTE THE TIME CHANGE.

This week in the Theatre Dept.
This week the fall production staff met to continue planning Seussical. The audition forms are now up on the website to be printed and filled in. Please note that audition are August 31st.
Auditions for this production are open to 2nd through 12th grade students of China Spring schools. There are singing and non-singing roles available.
Students need to arrive with 12-16 bars of vocal music prepared simple "Row, row your boat" type songs are acceptable for non-choir folks (for singing roles) or with a 2 minute monologue prepared (for non-singing roles).
In other news, the drama club officers, Meagan, Sarah, Matthew, & Ashley met this past week. We are still looking for ideas for the Back-to-School party. We had an idea but it didn't quite work out. So let's brainstorm and get your ideas to Mrs. Tatsch, one of your officers, or comment on this blog post.

Let's get a little input
The drama club officers and I will begin to plan the Back to School bash at our meeting next week. I would love to hear suggestions for location. The date will likely be late September.
The District 19AAA OAP directors met last night to plan. This year's contest will be April 2, 2011 at Connally HS auditorium. Mark it on your calendar.

Begin @ the Beginning
Obviously the new CSHS Theatre blog is up and running. However please have patience as I learn to be a diligent and effective blogger. This is my first time. My plan is to update weekly.
I've been reading scripts for OAP competition like crazy. Looking for a comedy this year but no luck finding "the one" yet. I go to director training Aug. 7-11, we shall see what fun things I find to read there.
Meanwhile, Suessical has been chosen as our fall production. We'll be looking for singers and actors & singer/actors. I've found a new tool for designing and planning this production which is making my life easier and making it easier to coordinate with Mrs. Hoffman, the music director and Mrs. Jowers, the choreographer. Promethean boards and software are fabulous. This year's student director is Meagan Kascsak. We will have a student designer for the first time this year and Sarah Frazier has agreed to take that post. Thanks ladies!! I am still looking for a stage manager. Any one who wishes to be considered to contact Mrs. Tatsch.
